Peace & Sport
"Peace and Sport, L’Organisation pour la Paix par le Sport"
Peace and Sport was founded in 2007 by Modern Pentathlon Olympic medalist and world champion Joel Bouzou, who is the current President of the organization.
It aims at sustainable peace, throughout the world.
To achieve this, it promotes the practice of structured sport and sporting values to educate young generations and help foster social stability, reconciliation and dialogue between communities.
Peace and Sport focuses on areas made vulnerable by extreme poverty, recent conflict or lack of social cohesion.
The organization is neutral and apolitical. It is based in Monaco and is a global initiative under the High Patronage of His Serene Highness Prince Albert II of Monaco.

A World of Football’s implication:
We participated to the 2011 Peace & Sport International Forum in Monaco (26th-29th October). Together with the representatives of the organization, we have determined the vital criteria necessary to observe and to measure the efficiency of the future visited initiatives.
The ultimate output is the establishment of an analytical model regrouping the various features of social initiatives visited. In this way, we are able to define the best practices in order to encourage the future development and strengthening of stable, durable and effective projects throughout the world.
We plan to participate to the next Peace & Sport International Forum in Sochi (October 2012). There, we will have the opportunity to share our experience, the objectives and results of our investigation with various other actors of peace and sport. This way, we want to raise awareness of political, academicals and sport decision-makers on the role of sport for integration and development.
